Alpha EIS Fund
The Alpha EIS Fund was launched by Braveheart in December 2005 and was closed, fully subscribed, on 31 January 2006.
The fund is a tax efficient investment vehicle that makes investments in university spin-out companies. Partners in the fund include Scottish Enterprise and Braveheart clients as well as Braveheart Investment Group plc.
Clients investing in the fund have the opportunity to build a junior portfolio of tax efficient investments in seed or early-stage companies that are rich in intellectual property, and have the potential for significant capital growth. They also have the opportunity to become involved in the investee companies by way of non-executive directorships or interim CEO roles.
To date, the fund has invested approximately £1.5 million and has made ten investments.
